Porch Sale

I might have mentioned this before, but our neighborhood is well known for it's porches.  I'm a big fan of them myself, and will post some photos soon.  


Anyway, on Saturday our suburb hosted it's Porch Sale.  Anyone in the community can set up a table (or lay down a blanket) to display their wares, and the idea is to donate 10% of your takings to the Community Association, which promotes it.


It's a great idea, and much appreciated by people like us, people furnishing their cottage and students furnishing their houses (we're right next to one of the main uni's, and very close to 2 others, so lots of students live in the area).


The sun shone and we were up and out there by 8.30.  The stuff on sale was mostly that, stuff, and pretty much the same as stuff anywhere, but we did pretty well, picking up small pieces of furniture, kitchen things and toys for the kids.

There were lots of people from outside of the area, so it wasn't just a case of swapping your crap with your neighbour's, but there did seem to be a lot unsold, despite the beautiful weather.  Not sure what everyone does with it after that.


Wouldn't it work well in Kensington?
