Vancouver - just like Sydney only different

3 days in Vancouver - the most exciting thing which happened was that someone in our family turned 7 - yes, Miss Cluny is now 7 years old. We tried to make it a special day, but as she pointed out, you always have 3 parties: 1 with your friends, 1 with your wider family and 1 at home. Disneyland just scraped it in as substituting for at least 1 of those, so the pressure was on to make the big day at least equal to 2 parties at home.

We started with a scenic walk but it was hot (well, pretty hot - 28 at least!) and our walk to Stanley Park ended up at the Aquarium. Good move - the dolphin "show" was the highlight but it was fun AND interesting. Silas and I saw a 4D movie, complete with sprays of water, pokes in the back (aaarrghh - sea snakes!!!!) and rustling at ankle level (anenomes).










However, the beauty of Vancouver was nothing on the hotel swimming pool, so we had to allow a couple of hours back at the hotel, before going out for dinner. Thankfully we chose somewhere which satisfied everyone (especially the most difficult of all, the birthday girl). Here she is with her virgin strawberry daiquiri:
