Day 21 - back "home"

While it's always a nice feeling returning home after an absence, this time it felt strange.  It will only be our home for a few weeks, and all of us have mixed feelings about leaving, so there's a self-consciousness of what it means to us which might not otherwise be there.


So we packed up the van for the last time 

and headed west.


3 weeks,
over 5,700 km,
and so many wonderful sights and experiences later, we arrived back in Ottawa.


It had been warm and wet while we were away, so the garden was looking lush indeed.  We had Valerie over for a little garden party the next day:

Note all the washing around the place - there was a mountain to get through!

It's home for a few weeks longer ...
